항공기 엔진도 증권으로 사고 판다

갤럭시아머니트리는 항공금융 토큰증권발행(STO) 컨소시엄 구성을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 15일 밝혔다. 이번 MOU에는 신한투자증권, 유진투자증권, 브이엠아이씨(VMIC), 시리움(Cirium)이 참여했다.

이 컨소시엄은 항공기 엔진 등 핵심 장비의 리스와 리스 풀링(Pooling) STO를 제공하는 것이 목표다. 이를 통해 민간 자금조달을 확보하고 항공기 스페어 엔진이나 항공 부품 리스료에 대한 부담이 완화될 것으로 기대된다고 회사 측은 설명했다.

이번 항공금융 STO 컨소시엄에서 갤럭시아머니트리는 컨소시엄 총괄과 항공금융 토큰증권 발행 플랫폼 개발·운용을 맡는다.

신한투자증권과 유진투자증권은 각각 STO 유통 플랫폼 개발, 운용·사업화와 신탁·계좌 관리를 지원한다. 또 브이엠아이씨는 항공기 엔진 자산관리 지원과 서비스 관리·항공금융 전문성을 담당하며, 시리움은 항공기 엔진 자산가치 평가 지원과 항공 데이터를 제공한다.

시리움은 114년에 걸친 항공 경험을 바탕으로 실시간 항공기 위치 분석, 항공기 자산 가치 모니터링·벤치마킹, 비행 기반 날씨와 배출량 데이터 등을 제공하는 글로벌 항공 데이터 분석기업이다. 브이엠아이씨는 우리나라 최초의 항공기·항공기 엔진 기술 관리 스타트업이다. 기술, 금융 전문지식을 기반으로 항공기와 엔진 관련 리스 관리, 항공 산업 분석, 항공금융 등의 서비스를 제공한다.

회사 관계자는 "컨소시엄에 참여한 5개사 외에도 항공금융 기반 STO 사업을 위해 국토교통부, 한국항공협회 등 관련 정부 기관들과 논의하고 있으며 최근 혁신금융서비스 신청도 마쳤다"고 전했다.

VMIC Aviation, the first in Korea to provide aviation finance/technical/lease in one cycle, announced on the 15th that it had signed a MoU with Cirium and Galaxia Money Tree, which is in charge of new business for Hyosung affiliates, to form an aviation finance Securities Token Offering (STO) consortium.

The consortium is organised with Galaxia Money Tree, which develops and operates an aviation finance STO platform; Cirium, which provides a valuation of aviation assets; Shinhan Investment & Securities and Eugene Investment & Securities, which creates, operate and commerces a platform for individual investors with trust and account management. Also, it is under discussion by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) in South Korea simultaneously.

VMIC Aviation plans to continue discovering attractive aviation assets, such as aircraft engines and aircraft for aviation finance STO in the consortium and provide asset management services for investors. At the same time, VMIC Aviation is going to apply STO in the aircraft engine-sharing service in South Korea, which is scheduled to be launched in 2024.

The attractiveness of aviation assets is increasing with the growth of the global aviation market as they can be evaluated and are also borderless assets.
